Freshers' Party

Let the festivities commence! The long-awaited day had finally arrived, a day that would etch unforgettable memories into the annals of your college life. September 27, 2023, a date destined to be cherished forever.

The theme for this year's extravaganza was "retro," a nostalgic trip down memory lane, resurrecting the glamour of the 70's and 80's fashion. It was a delightful fusion of Bollywood and Hollywood's golden eras, sprinkled with a touch of Gen Z flair.

Regrettably, most attendees missed the memo on dressing retro, but not me. Oh no, I spared no expense, dropping a cool 3500 bucks to transform into retro royalty, ensuring epic photos to last a lifetime.

The afternoon took an irksome turn when Aryan, Dhairya, and Shivansh led me on an exhausting chase up and down five floors for no discernible reason. Their disregard for my presence left me feeling like a mere bystander, and they didn't bother with an apology.

Let's set that drama aside; it's filled with too many ups and downs. Better to keep our distance.

It took a solid hour to perfect my retro look, complete with suspenders that elevated my already darn sexy shirt. I couldn't help but adore the result.

Harsh called and proposed we attend the party together. I invited him to my room, and we set off.

My hairstyle proved a stubborn adversary, demanding a generous dollop of gel, which was less than ideal.

Nonetheless, we arrived early, the venue eerily empty. Little did we know, this was a blessing in disguise. The setting sun gifted us the opportunity for stunning photos, and we even crossed paths with Anshuman, who sported a Hawaiian shirt that defied the retro theme but oozed style. Harsh, on the other hand, exuded gentlemanly charm in his velvet suit.

As evening descended, we finally reunited with our group, everyone looking stunning. Dhairya had donned an all-black, seductive ensemble, while Dhaarna chose elegance and simplicity, a majestic dancer with an unanticipated, free-flowing groove. Her newfound side left me astonished.

Skye resembled a doll in her purple dress, a departure from her usual comfy sandals in favor of heels. Vanshi may have opted for simplicity, but her presence lit up the room.

Aryan and Shivansh made a tardy entrance, and I'd rather not delve into that.

A humorous incident unfolded when Ananya and Misha were supposed to arrive by 5:30, but thanks to Mansi's misplaced identity card, they joined the party at 8:30. How one loses their ID is still a mystery.

Regardless, they joined the festivities, and a heartfelt thanks to Misha and Suryansh for capturing epic shots with their DSLR, with a special shout-out to Suryansh for letting me borrow his hat for that perfect shot.

We danced relentlessly, partied exuberantly, and had an absolute blast. The night was nothing short of magical, with photos to immortalize the memories.

I skipped dinner, instead opting for a scrumptious Egg Roll to curb my 14-hour hunger.

Suddenly, I realized I had a Duolingo streak to maintain before the day's end. I temporarily bid farewell to the gang, completed my task, and exclaimed, "Yahoo!"

Fatigue soon enveloped me, and an inexplicable backache forced me to bow out early. What was happening to my back these days?

Alas, it was one of the best nights in college, with more to come: Ethnic night, Garba night, Halloween, Euphoria X Zenevia, and countless others. It seemed my entire budget would be devoted to acquiring new outfits for these events. Laugh out loud!

Love Ya ,

XoXo
