I Need Contacts

Yes, I am one of those unfortunate souls who have to wear glasses to see clearly. And let me tell you, it's not fun at all.

First of all, glasses are heavy. I don't care how light they claim to be, they still put pressure on my nose and ears and make me feel like I have a brick on my face. Sometimes, I get headaches from wearing them too long. And don't even get me started on the marks they leave on my skin. It's like I have permanent tattoos of two circles and a bridge on my face.

Secondly, glasses are awkward. Especially when I want to watch a 3D movie. You know what I mean, right? You have to wear those special glasses over your regular glasses and it looks ridiculous. Not to mention, it's uncomfortable and makes the movie less enjoyable. My friends always tease me and call me "double battery" because I have two pairs of glasses on. Ha ha, very funny.

Thirdly, glasses are limiting. There are so many things I can't do or enjoy because of them. For example, I can't swim or play sports without worrying about losing or breaking them. I can't wear sunglasses or makeup without looking weird. I can't take selfies or photos without hiding behind them. I hate how they make me look less attractive and confident.

So, you might be wondering, why don't I just get contacts? Well, that's another problem. Contacts scare me. I have heard so many horror stories about them: infections, allergies, dry eyes, scratches, tears, etc. And the idea of putting something in my eye makes me cringe. What if they get stuck or melt or fall out? What if I forget to take them out or clean them properly? What if they damage my eyes even more?

That's why I have decided to get LASIK surgery in the future. LASIK is a procedure that uses a laser to reshape the cornea and correct the vision. It sounds amazing, right? Imagine being able to see clearly without any glasses or contacts. Imagine being free from all the hassles and inconveniences of having poor eyesight.

Of course, LASIK is not without its risks and drawbacks. It's not suitable for everyone, it's not guaranteed to work perfectly, it may have side effects or complications, etc. But I think it's worth a try. After all, it's my dream to have perfect vision.

I have heard that the best time to get LASIK is when your eyesight stabilizes in your mid-20s. That means I still have a few years to go before I can qualify for the surgery. Until then, I will have to endure wearing glasses and hoping for the best.
