As everyone, I spend most of my day online, I understand the importance of having a reliable and efficient web browser. For years, I have used various browsers like Chrome, Firefox, and brave, but recently I have discovered Opera(6 months back), and I have to say, it's the underdog browser that deserves a chance.
Firstly, Opera has a minimalist UI,(Muahh! ) which is perfect for those who prefer a clutter-free browsing experience. (Slick and Clean)
The browser's clean design allows for a distraction-free experience, making it easier to focus on the task at hand.(No ads , No Widgets )
In terms of other features, Opera is loaded with everything you need for an optimal browsing experience. It comes with a built-in ad-blocker that ensures a faster and smoother browsing experience. (Probably even better than Brave)
It also has a free, unlimited VPN(Most handy feature) that helps protect my privacy and security while browsing online. As Now I do not have to download 3rd party apps like Windscribe and Nord VPN.
Furthermore, Opera has a built-in messaging feature that allows you to use popular messaging apps like WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger, and Telegram, all within the browser.
Salute the man who gave this idea to integrate all of the social media and ease the accessibility rather than switching tabs. Seamless connection!
Now Comes the Downside of Opera and Why there's something shady about it 👀
Opera is a web browser developed by Opera Software AS, a Norwegian software company that was founded in 1995 by Jon Stephenson von Tetzchner and Geir Ivarsøy.
Though its founded in Norway but now it doesn't belong to its own country (Twist)
In 2016, Opera Software was acquired by a consortium of Chinese companies led by Golden Brick Capital Private Equity Fund I Limited Partnership, including Qihoo 360 and Beijing Kunlun Tech. As a result of the acquisition, Opera Software became a privately held company.
Due to which GOI and other tech companies doesn't allow to host their website on Opera due to Privacy and Security reasons.
Which makes it little scarier to use ? I hope it doesn't get BANNED in the future.
