Two Weeks Without Coffee

Since last year, I used to drink a lot of coffee without realizing that I was becoming dependent on it. I didn't really think about it and just replaced my regular "Haldi Wala Doodh" with coffee in my daily routine. I never considered whether or not I was going overboard with it.
It wasn't until I started having trouble sleeping, that I realized that the caffeine in the coffee was the culprit.
I used to think that my body's clock was making me stay awake all night, but it was actually the caffeine. My habit of drinking black coffee twice a day only made things worse, as it was a lot of caffeine to handle. I then began to understand why people with high-stress jobs tend to consume coffee to stay alert and kill the night.
While reading this book called Hacking Health by Mukesh Bansal from past 2 month, I recently came across the Chapter : Sleep, where the author advises not to drink coffee after 4 pm since it can interfere with sleep. I realized that this was very true in my case, and decided to make a change. So from the past 2 weeks I've stopped drinking coffee after 4 pm, and it worked like a miracle. I now sleep much better than before.
I also made a new rule for myself to limit my coffee intake to just two days a week, on Saturdays and Wednesdays, with a decent gap in between to reduce its effects.
Although the recommended daily caffeine intake is 200mg, which is equivalent to two cups of coffee a day, I have learned that it's important to take a break and be mindful of how much and when I consume caffeine.
